BOOKOTIL LTDCompany registered in England and Wales — company number 17429366128 City Road, EC1V 2NX London, United Kingdomcontact@bookotil.com+33 6 44 65 66 27 · WhatsAppThese terms govern the sale of hotel nights by bookotil, on bookotil.com and in the bookotil app. Making a booking means accepting them in full.
The version that applies is the one online on the day of booking. They are addressed to travellers booking in a personal capacity; bookings placed by a travel agency through our trade channel are covered by a separate contract.
bookotil is the seller of the stay. The contract of sale for the night is between you and the company named above. We sell in our own name and on our own account: we do not collect on the hotel’s behalf and we do not act as its agent.
In practice this means: we invoice you, the charge carries our name on your bank statement, cancellation is requested from us, the refund comes from us, and a card dispute is settled with us.
The hotel is our supplier. It delivers the accommodation on site and we pay it separately, under a contract that does not concern you. You have no room charge to settle with the hotel: the night is already paid for.
One or more nights in a hotel located in Algeria, for specific dates, a specific room type, a specific number of guests and a specific rate, as shown on the property page and on your confirmation. The property description, its photographs, its facilities, its check-in and check-out times and its meal plan are all displayed before you book.
What the price does not include: transport, insurance, visa, and anything you consume on site (meals, bar, parking, spa, laundry), which is settled directly with the hotel. Extras offered at the time of booking, where there are any, are included in the price you pay.
bookotil does not sell flights, car hire, tours or airport transfers.
Displayed prices are ALL-IN for the stay shown: room rate, Algerian tourist tax and Algerian VAT included. No booking fee, service fee or supplement is added at payment — the total you see before paying is exactly the amount charged.
The payment currency is spelled out next to the price. You can be charged in euros (EUR), US dollars (USD) or pounds sterling (GBP), as you choose. The Algerian dinar (DZD) is offered for display only, as an indication: a stay viewed in dinars is charged in euros, and the payment screen says so before you confirm.
The exchange rate is fixed at the moment of booking. It stays the same if the charge is taken later, and if a refund has to be made. Your bank may apply its own fees when the currency charged is not the currency of your account: those fees are its own and we receive no part of them.
Displayed availability is real: we do not sell "on request". When you confirm your choice, the rooms are held for fifteen minutes while payment completes; after that an unpaid booking is dropped and the rooms return to sale.
The booking is confirmed as soon as payment is validated. You immediately receive a confirmation e-mail carrying a booking reference, and the hotel receives the booking at the same moment. That reference, together with the e-mail address you used, gives you access to the "My booking" page.
Every room is sold under a rate, and a rate can carry conditions that we check at the moment of booking: minimum or maximum length of stay, minimum notice between booking and arrival, closed arrival or departure days, and periods closed to sale. When one of those conditions blocks a booking, the exact reason is shown — we never write "sold out" instead.
Some properties require documents at check-in: an identity document, and in some Algerian hotels a marriage certificate for a couple sharing a room. Where that requirement exists it is stated on the property page before you book. A traveller who cannot produce the required documents may be refused the room by the hotel, with no refund.
Two regimes apply depending on the rate chosen; the one that applies is stated on each room before booking and repeated on your confirmation.
Non-refundable rate: the full stay is charged immediately, at the time of booking.
Flexible rate: nothing is charged at booking, only the validity of the card is verified by a zero-amount authorisation. The amount is then pre-authorised 4 days before the charge date, and charged the day after the free-cancellation deadline. You can therefore cancel free of charge up to and including the last day of the free period. If you book when that deadline has already passed, the stay is charged immediately.
If the card is declined at the time of the charge, we e-mail you and you have several days to register another one from the "My booking" page. If no payment succeeds by the charge date, the booking is cancelled and the hotel is informed.
Payments are processed by a licensed, PCI-DSS certified payment provider. bookotil never stores your card number.
A confirmed booking can be changed from the "My booking" page: dates, room type, number of guests, number of rooms, extras. The change is presented as a complete stay and priced before you commit; it is applied only when you accept it.
What applies: nights already sold keep the price they were sold at, only added nights are priced at today’s rate; the rate rules above are checked again; a non-refundable rate does not allow the dates to move, but does allow a change of room, of occupancy, or an added room; the number of changes you may make is limited to five per booking.
If the change increases the price, the difference is due: it is charged when you confirm if the stay is already paid, or added to the scheduled charge if it is not yet. If the change reduces the price, the difference is refunded where the rate allows it; on a non-refundable rate, shortening the stay gives rise to no refund.
The hotel may also propose a change, which it cannot apply on its own. You have 24 hours to accept or decline it, and 2 hours if arrival is the next day; with no answer the proposal expires and nothing changes.
Cancellation conditions belong to each rate, are displayed before payment and repeated on the confirmation. They are set out in full in our cancellation and refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
In short: on a flexible rate, cancellation is free until the stated deadline, including on that day; after it, the stay is due in full and no partial refund is provided for. On a non-refundable rate, no refund is due, whether you cancel or fail to arrive. A no-show gives rise to no refund, whatever the rate.
A refund that is due is always made to the card used for payment, and to no other method.
The rewards programme credits points after the stay: they are added to your account 48 hours after you check out, as a percentage of the room price. That percentage is higher for a booking made in the app than on the website, and it is doubled for a stay of seven nights or more. The exact number of points credited appears in your rewards history.
Points have no monetary value: they cannot be converted into money, cannot be withdrawn, and cannot be used anywhere but bookotil. They serve to reduce the price of a booking, or can be transferred to another bookotil account, subject to a minimum amount per transfer and an annual ceiling; the screen tells you if a transfer exceeds them.
Points used in a booking are permanently consumed at confirmation. They are never returned — including where the booking is later cancelled and the card payment refunded in full, and whatever the rate. The only exception: a booking abandoned or expired before it was ever confirmed consumes no points.
A referral credits the invited traveller with a benefit on their first booking above a minimum amount, and the referrer once the invited traveller’s stay is over. Promotional discounts do not stack. The amount and conditions of each benefit are shown at the moment it is offered to you.
The accommodation is delivered by the property on the dates shown on your confirmation. As the seller of the stay, we answer for its proper delivery: if the property does not match what we sold you, write to us and we will handle the complaint.
If a property cannot provide the room booked, we rehouse you in a property of at least equivalent standard at no extra cost, or refund the stay in full, at your choice. That commitment does not depend on the rate chosen.
We are not answerable for the consequences of an event of force majeure, nor for the conditions of entry into Algeria — visa, passport, travel documents — which are your responsibility and that of the competent authorities.
Any complaint must be addressed to us first: by e-mail to the address above, on WhatsApp, or from the conversation on the "My booking" page. We reply within 24 working hours and look for an amicable solution before any other step.
If you do not recognise a charge, contact us before your bank: the charge carries the name bookotil rather than the hotel name, and we can identify the matching booking straight away. A dispute opened with your bank without writing to us first lengthens the handling rather than speeding it up.
These terms, and the contract of sale they govern, are subject to English law. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
This choice does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you have your habitual residence. If you are a consumer, you keep those protections and the ability to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
